“परमेश्वर आत्मा हुनुहुन्छ। यसैले जसले परमेश्वरलाई पुज्दछ उहाँलाई आत्मा र सत्यतामा नै आराधाना गर्नु पर्छ।”
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
1. मकैदमा छु किन कि म प्रभुको हुँ। परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई उनका मानिस भएर जीउन चुन्नु भयो। अब म तिमीहरूलाई परमेश्वरका मानिस भएर कसरी जीउनु पर्छ त्यो बताउछु।
2. सँधै नम्र र कोमल बन। धैर्य बन र आपस्तमा प्रेम पूर्वक रह।
3. आत्मा मार्फत तिमीहरू शान्तिपूर्क एक-अर्कामा सम्बन्धित छौ। शान्तिको बन्धनले यस सम्बन्धलाई अटूट राख्ने भरसक कोशिश गर।
13. हामी सबै एउटै विश्वासमा नबाँधिउञ्जेल, परमेश्वरको पुत्रलाई पूर्णरूपले नचिनुञ्जेल, हामी परिपक्क मानिस नबनिउञ्जेल, हामी ख्रीष्ट जस्तै उन्नत नहुञ्जेल र उहाँको पूर्णता प्राप्त नगरूञ्जेल यो काम गरि नै रहनुपर्छ।
22. तिमीहरूलाई आफ्नो पुरानो स्वभाव छोडन सिकाइयो। त्यसको अर्थ, अघिका दिनहरूमा पछ्याइ हिंडेको कुमार्गलाई तिमीहरूले त्याग्नु पर्छ। त्यो स्वभाव त्यसैका धोखापूर्ण इच्छाहरूले त्यसलाई थोत्रो बनाइसकेका छ।
23. तिमीहरू आफ्ना मन र आत्मामा नयाँ बनाइनु पर्छ।
24. तिमीहरू नयाँ मानिस बनिनु पर्छ जस्तो विश्वास अनुसार धर्मी र पवित्र जीवन बाँच्न परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई आफ्नै अनुरूपमा सिर्जनु भएको छ।
1. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3. Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
13. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
22. That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
पाठ सेर्मन
17 परमप्रभु परमेश्वर यसो भन्नुहुन्छ;
19 म तिमीहरूभित्र नयाँ आत्मा हालिदिनेछु।
20 तब तिनीहरूले मेरो विधिहरू पालन गर्नेछन्। तिनीहरूले मेरो नियमहरू पालन गर्नेछन्, तिनीहरूले त्यो काम गर्नेछन् जुन म गर्न लगाउँछु। तिनीहरू साँच्चै मेरो प्रजा हुनेछन् अनि म तिनीहरूका परमेश्वर हुनेछु।
21 त्यसपछि परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयो, तर यस समय उहाँको हृदय डरलाग्दा कुहिएको मूर्ति भइसकेको छ। मैले ती मानिसहरूलाई तिनीहरूको नराम्रो कामको निम्ति दण्ड दिनुपर्छ जुन तिनीहरूले गरेका छन्। मेरा स्वामी परमप्रभु मेरा मालिकले यी सबै कुराहरू भन्नुभयो।
17 Thus saith the Lord God;
19 I will put a new spirit within you;
20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God.
1 सम्पूर्ण उसका राज्यहरूमा शासन गर्न दारालाई 120 जना प्रान्तिय बडा हाकिमहरू नियुक्त गर्न असल लाग्यो।
2 अनि यी तीन जना राष्ट्रपतिहरूमाथि; जसमध्ये दानियल पहिलो थिए:
3 ...चाँडै दानियलले आफूलाई राम्रो चरित्र अनि धेरै योग्यता भएको देखाए। यसकारण।
4 तर जब अरू पर्यवेक्षकहरू अनि प्रान्त अधिपतिहरूले यो खबर पाए पछि दानियलसँग ईष्या गर्न र उनीहरूले दानियलसँग निँहू खोज्न थाले, जब दानियल सरकारी कामले कतै जान्थे त्यति बेला उनले गरेको काममा अरूहरूले नजर राख्थे तर पनि उनीहरूले दानियलमा कुनै दोष भेट्टाएनन्। दानियल एकदमै ईमान्दार अनि विश्वासी थिए। उनले राजासँग कुनै प्रकारको छल कपट गरेनन्। उनी एकदमै परिश्रमी थिए।
5 यसैले ती मानिसहरूले भने, अहिले सम्म हामीले दानियलको कुनै दोष भेट्टाउन सकेनौ, यसैले दोष देखाउनको निम्ति यस्तो कुरा खोज्नु पर्छ जुन परमेश्वरको नियमसँग सम्बन्धित होस्।
6 त्यसपछि ती मंत्रिहरू र सल्लाकारहरू अनि प्रांन्तका बडाहाकिमहरूले राजाकहाँ आएर भने, राजा दारा अमर रहुन।
7 राज्यको हामी सबै मंत्रि, शासक, प्रान्तीय बडा हाकिम, भारादार र प्रदेशपालहरू सल्लाह गरेर सहमत भएकाछौं कि राजाले एउटा यस्तो विशेष नियम कायम राख्नुहोस्, अनि प्रत्येक मानिसले त्यो नियम पालन गर्नुपर्ने होस्, यस्तो नियम होस् कुनै पनि मानिसले तपाईंलाई छोडेर अर्को कुनै मानिस अथवा देवताको पूजा तीस दिन सम्म गर्यो भने, त्यसलाई सिंहको खोरमा हालेर मारियोस्।
10 दानियलले प्रत्येक दिन तीन पल्ट परमेश्वरलाई प्रार्थना गर्थे, प्रत्येक दिन तीन पल्ट दानियल घुँडा टेकेर परमेश्वरको प्रार्थना अनि प्रशंसा गर्थो जब दानियलले यो नयाँ नियमको विषयमा सुने ऊ उसको घरमा गए। दानियल उसको घरको छतमाथि गए। दानियल झ्यालतिर गए त्यो यरूशलेमपट्टि खोलिएको थियो। तब दानियलले सधैं जस्तै उनको घुँडा टेकेर प्रार्थना गरे।
11 उनका दुश्मनहरूले दानियललाई पक्रने मौका हेरिरहेका थिए र दानियललाई परमेश्वरको प्रार्थना गर्दै गरेको भेट्टाए।
12 त्यसपछि उनीहरू राजा भएकहाँ आएर उनलाई त्यो नियमको विषयमा सम्झना गराए। हे राजा! तपाईंले यस्तो कानून बनाउँनु भएको होइन कि तीस दिनभित्र तपाईंलाई बाहेक कसैले अरू कुनै देवता वा मानिसलाई बिन्ति प्रार्थना गर्यो भने त्यसलाई सिंहको खोरमा हालिने छ? राजाले जवाफ दिए, हो यो निश्चय गरिएको हो। मादि र फारसीहरूको कानून स्थायी हुन्छ।
14 जब राजाले यो खबर सुने तिनी अत्यन्तै दुखी भए, लगत्तै उनले दानियललाई बँचाउने चेष्टा गरे। उनले सूर्यास्त नहुञ्जेलसम्म दानियललाई बचाउँने चेष्टा गरे।
16 तब राजाले तिनीहरूलाई दानियललाई सिंहको खोरमा फ्याँक्ने आदेश दिए। राजाले दानियललाई भने, म विश्वास गर्छु परमेश्वरले जसलाई तिमी सधैं आराधना गर्छौ, तिमीलाई बचाउन।
19 बिहान झिसमिसे उज्यालोमा राजा उठेर डरले काम्दै सिंहको खोरमा गए।
20 राजा खोरको छेउमा गएर दानियललाई कराएर भने, हे दानियल जीवित परमेश्वरका सेवक, तिमीले निरन्तर सेवा गरेका तिम्रा परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई बचाउँन सक्नु भयो?
21 दानियलले राजालाई जवाफ दिए, महाराज अमर रहुन्।
22 मेरो परमेश्वरले आफ्ना स्वर्गदूत पठाएर सिंहहरूको मुख बन्द गर्नु भयो। यसकारण सिंहहरूले मलाई नोक्सान गर्न सकेनन् किनभने मेरो परमेश्वर जान्नुहुन्छ कि म निर्दोष छु। हे महाराज! मैले तपाईंलाई कुनै अन्याय गरेको छैन।
23 त्यस पछि राजा अत्यन्तै खुशी भएर दानियललाई खोरबाट निकाल्ने हुकुम दिनुभयो। दानियल खोरबाट निकालिए अनि तिनमा कुनै प्रकारको चोट लागेको पाएनन्, किनभने उनले परमेश्वरमाथि विश्वास गर्थे।
1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first:
3 …this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him;
4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellers, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree;
14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him:
16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
31 यसकारण यस विषयमा हामीले के भन्ने? यदि परमेश्वर हाम्रो निम्ति हुनुहुन्छ भने, हामीलाई कसले पराजय गर्न सक्छ?
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
6 ... ... यसैले अब हामी परमेश्वरलाई आत्माको नयाँ ढाँचाले सेवा गर्दछौं, नियमहरूमा लेखिएको पुरानो ढाँचाले होइन।
6 …that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
14 येशू पवित्र आत्माको शक्ति लिएर गालीलमा फर्कूनु भयो। गालीलभरि उहाँको बारेमा समचारहरू फैलियो।
15 उहाँले तिनीहरूको सभा घरहरूमा सिकाउन शुरू गर्नुभयो। सबै मानिसहरूले उहाँको प्रशंसा गरे।
16 येशूले आफु हुर्केको शहर नासरतको पनि यात्रा गर्नु भयो। विश्रामको दिनमा अघि झैं उहाँ सभाघरमा जानु भयो। उहाँ त्यहाँ केही पढनलाई उभिनु भयो।
17 यशैया अगमवक्ताद्वारा लेखिएको ग्रन्थ उहाँलाई दिईएको थियो। उहाँले ग्रन्थ पल्टाउनु भयो अनि एक ठाउँ जहाँ निम्नलिखित कुरा लेखिएको भेट्टाउनु भयोः
18 परमप्रभुको आत्मा ममथि छ। परमेश्वरले मलाई अभिषेक गर्नुभएकोछ, केही पनि नभएका मानिसहरूमा सुसमाचारहरू सुनाउनलाई परमेश्वरले मलाई घोषणा गर्नु पठाउनु भएकोछ, कैदीहरूलाई मुक्त पार्न अनि अन्धो मानिसहरूलाई देख्न सक्ने पार्न अनेकौं यातनामा पिल्सिएका मानिसहरूलाई मुक्त पार्न परमेश्वरले मलाई पठाउनु भएकोछ।
19 अनि घोषणा गर्न कि आफ्नो मानिसहरूलाई बचाउन परमप्रभुको उचित समय आएको छ।
20 उहाँले ग्रन्थ बन्द गर्नुभयो। उहाँले त्यो ग्रन्थ सहयोगीलाई दिएर त्यहीं बस्नुभयो। सभा घरमा भएका प्रत्येक मानिसले उहाँ लाई हेरिरहेका थिए।
21 येशू तिनीहरूसंग बोल्न थाल्नु भयो उहाँले भन्नु भयो, मैले तिमीहरू अघि जो धर्मग्रन्थको अंश पढे त्यो आज पढदै गर्दा नै पूर्ण भयो।
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
2 सुन! म पावल हुँ, म भन्छु;
16 यसैले म भन्छुः आत्मा अनुसार बाँच। त्यसो गर्यो भने तिम्रा पापपूर्ण स्वभावले चाहेको खराब काम गर्ने छैनौ।
17 हाम्रो पापपूर्ण स्वभावले यस्तो कुरो चाहन्छ जुन आत्मा विरुद्ध हुन्छ। अनि आत्माले चाँहि यस्तो कुरो चाहन्छ जुन हाम्रो पापपूर्ण स्वभावको विरूद्ध हुन्छ। यी दुइ कुराहरू एक अर्कोको विपरीत छन्। यसैकारण तिमीले साँच्चै गर्नु चाहेको कुरो गर्न सक्तैनौ।
18 तर आत्माबाट डोरियौ भने तिमी व्यवस्थाको अधीनमा रहने छैनौ।
22 ...आत्माले प्रेम, आनन्द, शान्ति, धैर्य, दया, भलाइ, विश्वस्तता,
23 नम्रता, संयम दिंदछ। यी कुराहरू भूल हुन् भन्ने कुनै व्यवस्थामा छैन।
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you,
16 Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
22 …the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
क्रिश्चियन विज्ञानमा, आत्मा, एक उचित संज्ञाको रूपमा, सर्वोच्च अस्तित्वको नाम हो। यसको अर्थ मात्रा र गुण हो, र यो केवल परमेश्वरमा लागू हुन्छ।
In Christian Science, Spirit, as a proper noun, is the name of the Supreme Being. It means quantity and quality, and applies exclusively to God.
यस विज्ञानको पहिलो माग यो हो, "मभन्दा अगाडि तिमीसँग अरू कुनै देवताहरू हुनुहुँदैन।" यो म आत्मा हुँ। त्यसकारण आज्ञाको अर्थ यो हो: तिमीसँग कुनै बुद्धि, जीवन, पदार्थ, सत्य, प्रेम हुनेछैन, तर त्यो जुन आध्यात्मिक छ।... अरू कुनै देवताहरू नभएको, उसलाई मार्गदर्शन गर्नको लागि एक सिद्ध मन बाहेक अरू कसैतिर फर्केको, मानिस परमेश्वरको समानता हो, शुद्ध र अनन्त, त्यो मन भएको जुन ख्रीष्टमा पनि थियो।
The first demand of this Science is, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual. … Having no other gods, turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, having that Mind which was also in Christ.
आत्मा सबै चीजहरूको जीवन, सार र निरन्तरता हो।
Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things.
आत्मालाई शक्ति, उपस्थिति र शक्तिले प्रतीकात्मक रूपमा चित्रण गरिएको छ, र प्रेमले भरिएका पवित्र विचारहरूले पनि। उहाँको उपस्थितिका यी स्वर्गदूतहरू, जसमा सबैभन्दा पवित्र चार्ज छ, मनको आध्यात्मिक वातावरणमा प्रशस्त छन्, र फलस्वरूप तिनीहरूका आफ्नै विशेषताहरू पुनरुत्पादित गर्छन्। तिनीहरूका व्यक्तिगत रूपहरू हामीलाई थाहा छैन, तर हामीलाई थाहा छ कि तिनीहरूका स्वभावहरू परमेश्वरको स्वभावसँग सम्बन्धित छन्; र आध्यात्मिक आशीर्वादहरू, यसरी वर्णन गरिएको, विश्वास र आध्यात्मिक समझको बाह्य, तर व्यक्तिपरक, अवस्थाहरू हुन्।
Spirit is symbolized by strength, presence, and power, and also by holy thoughts, winged with Love. These angels of His presence, which have the holiest charge, abound in the spiritual atmosphere of Mind, and consequently reproduce their own characteristics. Their individual forms we know not, but we do know that their natures are allied to God's nature; and spiritual blessings, thus typified, are the externalized, yet subjective, states of faith and spiritual understanding.
मानव विचारहरूलाई मनोरञ्जन गर्ने र अस्तित्वको विज्ञानलाई अस्वीकार गर्ने एक मात्र बहाना भनेको आत्माको बारेमा हाम्रो नश्वर अज्ञानता हो, - अज्ञान जसले केवल दिव्य विज्ञानको बुझाइलाई मात्र प्रदान गर्दछ, त्यो बुझाइ जसद्वारा हामी पृथ्वीमा सत्यको राज्यमा प्रवेश गर्छौं र सिक्छौं कि आत्मा अनन्त र सर्वोच्च छ। आत्मा र पदार्थ प्रकाश र अन्धकार भन्दा बढी मिल्दैनन्।
The only excuse for entertaining human opinions and rejecting the Science of being is our mortal ignorance of Spirit, — ignorance which yields only to the understanding of divine Science, the understanding by which we enter into the kingdom of Truth on earth and learn that Spirit is infinite and supreme. Spirit and matter no more commingle than light and darkness.
पावलले भने, "आत्मामा हिंड, र तिमीहरूले शरीरको अभिलाषा पूरा गर्नेछैनौ।" ढिलोचाँडो हामी सिक्नेछौं कि मानिसको सीमित क्षमताको बन्धनहरू ऊ आत्मामा होइन शरीरमा, आत्मामा होइन पदार्थमा बस्छ भन्ने भ्रमले बनेका छन्।
Paul said, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter instead of in Spirit.
भौतिक इन्द्रियको झूटो प्रमाण आत्माको गवाहीसँग उल्लेखनीय रूपमा भिन्न छ। भौतिक इन्द्रियले वास्तविकताको अहंकारसँग आफ्नो आवाज उठाउँछ र भन्छ:
म पूर्ण रूपमा बेइमान छु, र यो कसैलाई थाहा छैन। म ठगी गर्न सक्छु, झूट बोल्न सक्छु, व्यभिचार गर्न सक्छु, लुट्न सक्छु, हत्या गर्न सक्छु, र म चिल्लो जिब्रो भएको खलनायकबाट पत्ता लगाउनबाट बच्न सक्छु। प्रवृत्तिमा पशु, भावनामा छली, उद्देश्यमा छली, मेरो मतलब मेरो छोटो जीवनलाई एक उत्सव दिन बनाउनु हो। पाप कति राम्रो कुरा हो! पाप कसरी सफल हुन्छ, जहाँ राम्रो उद्देश्य पर्खिरहेको छ! संसार मेरो राज्य हो। म पदार्थको भव्यतामा विराजमान छु। तर एक स्पर्श, एक दुर्घटना, परमेश्वरको व्यवस्था, कुनै पनि क्षणमा मेरो शान्तिलाई नष्ट गर्न सक्छ, किनकि मेरा सबै काल्पनिक आनन्दहरू घातक छन्। फुट्ने लाभा जस्तै, म मेरो आफ्नै निराशामा मात्र विस्तार हुन्छु, र आगो भस्म गर्ने तेजले चम्किन्छु।
विपरीत गवाही दिने आत्माले भन्छ:
म आत्मा हुँ। मानिस, जसको इन्द्रिय आध्यात्मिक छ, मेरो समानता हो। उसले अनन्त समझलाई प्रतिबिम्बित गर्दछ, किनकि म अनन्त हुँ। पवित्रताको सुन्दरता, अस्तित्वको पूर्णता, अविनाशी महिमा, - सबै मेरा हुन्, किनकि म ईश्वर हुँ। म मानिसलाई अमरत्व दिन्छु, किनकि म सत्य हुँ। म सबै आनन्दलाई समावेश गर्दछु र प्रदान गर्दछु, किनकि म प्रेम हुँ। म जीवन दिन्छु, सुरुवात बिना र अन्त्य बिना, किनकि म जीवन हुँ। म सर्वोच्च हुँ र सबै दिन्छु, किनकि म मन हुँ। म सबैको सार हुँ, किनकि म जे हुँ त्यही हुँ।
The false evidence of material sense contrasts strikingly with the testimony of Spirit. Material sense lifts its voice with the arrogance of reality and says:
I am wholly dishonest, and no man knoweth it. I can cheat, lie, commit adultery, rob, murder, and I elude detection by smooth-tongued villainy. Animal in propensity, deceitful in sentiment, fraudulent in purpose, I mean to make my short span of life one gala day. What a nice thing is sin! How sin succeeds, where the good purpose waits! The world is my kingdom. I am enthroned in the gorgeousness of matter. But a touch, an accident, the law of God, may at any moment annihilate my peace, for all my fancied joys are fatal. Like bursting lava, I expand but to my own despair, and shine with the resplendency of consuming fire.
Spirit, bearing opposite testimony, saith:
I am Spirit. Man, whose senses are spiritual, is my likeness. He reflects the infinite understanding, for I am Infinity. The beauty of holiness, the perfection of being, imperishable glory, — all are Mine, for I am God. I give immortality to man, for I am Truth. I include and impart all bliss, for I am Love. I give life, without beginning and without end, for I am Life. I am supreme and give all, for I am Mind. I am the substance of all, because I am that I am.

Understanding the control which Love held over all, Daniel felt safe in the lions' den, and Paul proved the viper to be harmless. All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible. A realization of this grand verity was a source of strength to the ancient worthies. It supports Christian healing, and enables its possessor to emulate the example of Jesus. "And God saw that it was good."

Human capacity is slow to discern and to grasp God's creation and the divine power and presence which go with it, demonstrating its spiritual origin. Mortals can never know the infinite, until they throw off the old man and reach the spiritual image and likeness. What can fathom infinity! How shall we declare Him, till, in the language of the apostle, "we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ"?

Mortals will some day assert their freedom in the name of Almighty God. Then they will control their own bodies through the understanding of divine Science. Dropping their present beliefs, they will recognize harmony as the spiritual reality and discord as the material unreality.

When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness.
Spirit and its formations are the only realities of being. Matter disappears under the microscope of Spirit. Sin is unsustained by Truth, and sickness and death were overcome by Jesus, who proved them to be forms of error. Spiritual living and blessedness are the only evidences, by which we can recognize true existence and feel the unspeakable peace which comes from an all-absorbing spiritual love.

Man understands spiritual existence in proportion as his treasures of Truth and Love are enlarged. Mortals must gravitate Godward, their affections and aims grow spiritual, — they must near the broader interpretations of being, and gain some proper sense of the infinite, — in order that sin and mortality may be put off.
This scientific sense of being, forsaking matter for Spirit, by no means suggests man's absorption into Deity and the loss of his identity, but confers upon man enlarged individuality, a wider sphere of thought and action, a more expansive love, a higher and more permanent peace.
