“म तिमीहरूलाई सत्य भन्छु। जसले ममा विश्वास गर्छ उसले पनि त्यस्तै काम गर्नेछ जो म गर्छु। उसले वास्तवमा त्यो भन्दा पनि महान काम गर्नेछ। किनभने म पिताकहाँ गइरहेछु।”— ख्रीष्ट येशू
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”— Christ Jesus
5. आफ्नो जीवनमा ख्रीष्ट येशूले जस्तै सोच र गर।
6. ख्रीष्ट आफै हरेक कुरामा परमेश्वर जस्तै हुनुहुन्थ्यो। उनी परमेश्वर बराबरी हुनु हुन्थ्यो। तर उहाँले परमेश्वसित रहेको बराबरीलाई आफ्नो निम्ति राखिनु पर्ने सम्पत्ति झैं मान्नु भएन।
7. भयो र मानव हुन जन्मनु भयो अनि सेवक हुनु भयो।
12. म्हणून माझ्या प्रियांनो, जसे तुम्ही मी प्रत्यक्ष असतानाच नव्हे तर आता दूर असतानासुद्धा आज्ञा पाळता तसे भीतीने कापत तुमचे तारण पूर्ण होण्यासाठी कार्य करीत राहा.
13. रमेश्वरले तिमीहरूमा काम गर्नु हुँदैछ। उहाँलाई केले खुशी पार्छ त्यो गर्नु उहाँले नै सहयता गर्नुहुन्छ अनि शक्ति दिनुहुन्छ। अनि यस्तो गर्ने शक्ति पनि उहाँले नै दिनुहुन्छ।
14. कुनै गनगन वा बहस नगरी सबै काम गर।
15. तब तिमीहरू दुष्ट मानिसहरू समक्ष निर्दोष, परिपूर्ण परमेश्वरका निष्कलंकित नानीहरू
5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant.
12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15. That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God.
पाठ सेर्मन
35 येशू सारा शहर र गाउँहरू हुँदै यात्रा गर्नुभयो। तिनीहरूका सभाघरहरूमा शिक्षा दिनुभयो अनि राज्यको बारेमा सुसमाचार प्रचार गर्नु भयो। येशूले सबै प्रकारका रोग र बिमारीहरू निको पार्नुभयो।
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
1 येशूले आफ्ना बाह्र जना चेलाहरूलाई बोलाउनु भयो। उहाँले दुष्टात्माहरूलाई धपाउने सामर्थ्य तिनीहरूलाई दिनुभयो। उहाँले हरेक प्रकारको रोग र बिमारहरू निको गर्न सक्ने सामर्थ्य तिनीहरूलाई दिनुभयो।
5 येशूले यी बाह्रजना प्रेरितहरूलाई आज्ञा दिनुभयो।
8 रोगीहरूलाई निको पार, मरेकाहरूलाई जिवनमा ल्याऊ। कुष्ट रोगीहरूको उपचार गर। मानिसहरूबाट भूत धपाऊ। म तिमीहरूलाई सित्तैंमा यी शक्तिहरू दिन्छु। यसर्थ सित्तैंमा तिनीहरूलाई सघाऊ।
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying,
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
14 येशू पवित्र आत्माको शक्ति लिएर गालीलमा फर्कूनु भयो। गालीलभरि उहाँको बारेमा समचारहरू फैलियो।
31 गालीलको कफर्नुहम भन्ने शहरमा येशू जानु भयष्ठ्वो। उहाँले विश्रामको दिन मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दिनु भयो।
32 तिनीहरू येशूको शिक्षामा छक्क पर्थे कारण उहाँ अधिकारसित सिकाउँनुहुन्थ्यो।
33 सभाघरमा एकजाना दुष्टआत्मा लागेको मानिस थियो। त्यो मानिस ठूलो स्वरमा चिच्यायो।
34 हे नासरतको येशू! हामीबाट तपाईं के चाहनुहुन्छ? के हामीलाई नाश गर्नु तपाईं यहाँ आउनष्ठ्वु भएको हो? म तपाईंलाई जान्दछु परमेश्वरका एक पवित्र जन्।
35 तर येशूले त्यो दुष्टात्मालाई हकार्नु भयो, चूप लाग्। यो मानिसदेखि निस्कि हाल्। त्यो दुष्टआत्माले मानिसहरूकै अघिपट्टि त्यो मानिसलाई भूँइमा पछारिदियो। त्यसपछि दुष्ट आत्माले त्यो मानिसलाई केही नोक्सान नगरी छाडी दियो।
36 सबै मानिसहरू छक्क परे अनि आपसमा कुरा गरे, यसको अर्थ के हो? येशूले त अधिकार अनि शक्तिसित दुष्ट आत्माहरूलाई निस्कन आज्ञा गर्नु हुन्छ औ तिनीहरू पनि निस्की हाल्छन्।
37 त्यसपछि त्यस इलाकाको प्रत्येक ठाऊँमा येशूको कीर्ति फैलियो।
38 येशूले सभा घर छाडनु भयो। उहाँ शिमोनको घरमा जानु भयो। शिमोनको सासू कडा ज्वरोले सिकिस्त बिमारी थिईन्। तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई तिनका निम्ति केही गरिदिनुहोस् भनी विन्ती गरे।
39 येशू तिनको नजिक जानु भयो अनि जरोलाई हट्ने आज्ञा दिनु भयो। जरो झट्टै हरायो। तब तिनी उठिन अनि तिनीहरूको सेवामा लागिन्।
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
12 जब एकपल्ट येशू एउटा शहरमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो, त्यहाँ एउटा शरीर कोढीले पीडीत मानिस पनि थियो। जब त्यसले येशूलाई देख्यो, उहाँ अघि निहुरिएर विन्ती गर्न लाग्यो, हे प्रभु, मलाई निको पारिदिनुहोस्। म जान्दछु तपाईंले चाहनु भयो भने मलाई जाती पार्नु सक्नु हुन्छ।
13 येशूले भन्नु भयो, म तिमीलाई निको पार्न चाहन्छु। निको होऊ! त्यसपछि उहाँले त्यस मानिसलाई छुनु भयो। झट्टै कोढले छोढयो।
12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
1 येशू यरीहो शहर भएर जाँदै हुनुहुन्थ्यो।
2 यरीकोमा एकजना जक्कै नाउँ भएको मानिस बस्थे । तिनी महसूल उठाउने हाकीम औ धनवान मानिस थिए ।
3 तिनी येशू को हुन भनी हेर्न चाहन्थे। अरू मानिसहरू पनि त्यहाँ उहाँलाई हेर्न चाहन्थे। जक्कै एकदमै पुडको मानिस थिए अनि उनले मानिसहरूको भीडमा येशूलाई देख्न सक्ने थिएनन्।
4 अनि येशू आउँदै गरेको ठाँउ पुग्नु तिनी अघि दौडे। तिनी नेभाराको रूखमा चढे जहाँबाट तिनले येशूलाई देख्न सक्थे।
5 जब येशू त्यो ठाउँमा आइपुग्नु भयो उहाँले जक्कैलाई रूखमाथि देख्नु भयो। उहाँले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, जक्कै, झट्टै! तल ओर्लेरआऊ! आज म तिम्रो घरमा बास बस्नु पर्छ।
6 त्यसपछि जक्कै झट्टै तल ओर्लेर आए। तिनी आफ्नो घरमा येशूलाई स्वागत गर्न पाउँदा खुबै खुशी भए।
7 सबै मानिसहरूले यो देखो। तिनीहरू यसो भन्दै विरोध गर्न लागे, हेर येशू कस्ता मानिससंग बस्न जानु हुँदैंछ? जक्कै पापी हो।
8 जक्कैले प्रभूलाई भन्यो, “म असल काम गर्न चहान्छु। म गरीबहरूलाई मेरो आधा सम्पति दिनेछु। अनि यदि मैले कसैले ठगेकोछु भने तिनीहरूलाई चार गुणा अधिक तिर्नेछु।
9 येशूले भन्नुभयो, यो मानिस असल हो। निश्चय नै यी अब्राहामको परिवारको हुनुपर्छ। आज जक्कै आफ्नो पापहरूबाट मुक्त भएको छ।
10 मानिसको पुत्र हाराएको मानिसहरूलाई खोज्नु र उद्धार गर्न आएको छ।
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
1 त्यसपछि, प्रभु येशूले 72जना मानिसहरूलाई छान्नु भयो। उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई दुई दुई जनाको दल बनाई आफू जुन जुन शहर र ठाउँहरू जान चाहनुहुन्थ्यो ती ठाउँहरूमा आफ्नो अगुवा बनाई पठाउनु भयो।
2 येशूले भन्नु भयो, फसल त धेरै छ, तर खेतालाहरू कम्ती छन्। यसर्थ फसलका प्रभुलाई प्रार्थना गर ताकि उहाँले आवश्यकता अनुसार खेतालाहरू पठाउन सकुन्।
17 जब ती सत्तरी जना मानिसहरू फर्केर आए, तिनीहरू खुबै खुशी थिए। तिनीहरूले भने, हे प्रभु, जब तपाईंको नाउँ हामीले आदेश दियौ भूतहरूले पनि हाम्रो आज्ञा माने!
18 येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, मैले शैतानलाई स्वर्गबाट बिजुली चम्के झैं खसिरहेको देखें।
19 सुन, मैले तिमीहरूलाई साँपहरू र बिच्छीहरूलाई कुल्चने शक्ति दिएकोछु। मैले तिमीहरूलाई शत्रुहरूको सबै शक्तिमाथि आधिकार दिएकोछु। अनि कसैले तिमीहरूलाई हानी पुर्याउँने छैन।
20 तर ती आत्माहरू तिमी हरूको आज्ञालाई पालन गर्दछन् भनेर तिमीहरू खुशी हुनु हुँदैन। बरू तिमीहरूको नाम स्वर्गमा लेखिएको छ भनी तिमीहरू खुशी होऊ।मत्ती
21 त्यसपछि येशूलाई पवित्र आत्माले अत्यन्त खुशी बनायो। उहाँले भन्नुभयो, हे पिता! स्वर्ग र पृथ्वीका परमप्रभु! म तपाईंलाई धन्यवाद चढाउँछु। म तपाईंको प्रसंशा गर्छु कि बुद्धिमान र समझदार मानिसहरूबाट तपाईंले यी कुराहरू लुकाएर राख्नु भएको छ। तर तपाईंले यी कुराहरू ती बालकहरू सरहका सरल मानिसहरूमा देखाइदिनु भयो। हो पिता, तपाईंले यसो गर्नुभयो किनभने त्यो तपाईंको रूचि थियो।
1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
16 एघारजना चेलाहरू गालील गए।
17 येशूले भन्नुभएको डाँडामा तिनीहरू पुगे। चेलाहरूले येशूलाई डाडामाथि देखे। तिनीहरूले येशूको उपासना गरे। तर अर्को शंका थियो।
18 येशूले तिनीहरूकहाँ आएर भन्नुभयो, स्वर्ग र पृथ्विका सारा अधिकार मलाई दिइएको छ।
19 यसकारण जाऊ र सबै देशका मानिसहरूलाई मेरा चेलाहरू बनाऊ। तिनीहरूलाई पिता, पुत्र र पवित्र आत्माको नाममा बप्तिस्मा देओ।
20 जे जे मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरे ती सबै पालन गर्न तिनीहरूलाई सिकाओ। अनि जगतको अन्तसम्म म सदैव तिमीहरूका साथमा हुनेछु।
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
भौतिक जीवनको विश्वास र सपनाबाट पूर्ण रूपमा अलग, दिव्य जीवन हो, जसले आध्यात्मिक समझ र सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वीमा मानिसको प्रभुत्वको चेतना प्रकट गर्दछ। यो बुझाइले त्रुटिलाई बाहिर निकाल्छ र बिरामीहरूलाई निको पार्छ, र यसको साथ तपाईं "अधिकार भएको व्यक्तिको रूपमा" बोल्न सक्नुहुन्छ।
Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth. This understanding casts out error and heals the sick, and with it you can speak "as one having authority."
महान उदाहरण जस्तै, उपचारकर्ताले रोगसँग त्यसमाथि अधिकार भएको व्यक्तिको रूपमा बोल्नुपर्छ, आत्मालाई भौतिक इन्द्रियहरूको झूटा प्रमाणहरूमाथि प्रभुत्व जमाउन र मृत्युदर र रोगमाथि आफ्नो दाबी जोड दिन छोड्नुपर्छ।
Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease.
येशूले एउटै आत्माद्वारा आफ्नो काम गर्नुभयो। उहाँले भन्नुभयो: "मेरो पिता अहिलेसम्म काम गर्नुहुन्छ, र म पनि काम गर्छु।" उहाँले सुसमाचारका पुस्तकहरूबाट सिक्न सकिनेसम्म कहिल्यै रोगको वर्णन गर्नुभएन, तर उहाँले रोग निको पार्नुभयो।
Jesus did his own work by the one Spirit. He said: "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." He never described disease, so far as can be learned from the Gospels, but he healed disease.
मानव निर्मित सिद्धान्तहरू कमजोर हुँदै गइरहेका छन्। समस्याको समयमा तिनीहरू बलियो भएका छैनन्। ख्रीष्ट-शक्तिबाट मुक्त भएर, तिनीहरूले ख्रीष्टका सिद्धान्तहरू वा अनुग्रहका चमत्कारहरूलाई कसरी चित्रण गर्न सक्छन्? ख्रीष्टियन उपचारको सम्भावनालाई अस्वीकार गर्दा ख्रीष्टियन धर्मले त्यो तत्वलाई नै लुट्छ, जसले यसलाई ईश्वरीय शक्ति र पहिलो शताब्दीमा यसको आश्चर्यजनक र अतुलनीय सफलता दियो।
भौतिक प्रतिरोधमाथि आध्यात्मिक शक्तिको श्रेष्ठतामा विश्वास गर्ने ईश्वरीय अधिकार छ।
Man-made doctrines are waning. They have not waxed strong in times of trouble. Devoid of the Christ-power, how can they illustrate the doctrines of Christ or the miracles of grace? Denial of the possibility of Christian healing robs Christianity of the very element, which gave it divine force and its astonishing and unequalled success in the first century.
There is divine authority for believing in the superiority of spiritual power over material resistance.
दुःख, पाप, मृत्युका विश्वासहरू अवास्तविक छन्। जब दिव्य विज्ञानलाई विश्वव्यापी रूपमा बुझिन्छ, तब मानिसमाथि तिनीहरूको कुनै शक्ति हुनेछैन, किनकि मानिस अमर छ र ईश्वरीय अधिकारद्वारा बाँच्दछ।
Suffering, sinning, dying beliefs are unreal. When divine Science is universally understood, they will have no power over man, for man is immortal and lives by divine authority.
म यहाँ मेरा पाठकहरूका लागि दिव्य मनको नियम र पदार्थ र स्वच्छताको कथित नियमहरूको उदाहरणात्मक रूपक प्रस्तुत गर्दछु, एउटा रूपक जसमा क्रिश्चियन विज्ञानको बिन्तीले बिरामीहरूलाई निको पार्छ। मानौं अदालतमा मुद्दा चलिरहेको बेला एउटा मानसिक मुद्दाको सुनुवाइ भइरहेको छ। एक जना मानिसलाई कलेजोको गुनासो गरेको आरोप लगाइएको छ। बिरामी बिरामी महसुस गर्छ, सोचविचार गर्छ, र मुद्दा सुरु हुन्छ। व्यक्तिगत भावना वादी हो। मर्त्य मानिस प्रतिवादी हो। झूटा विश्वास व्यक्तिगत भावनाको लागि वकिल हो। मर्त्य मन, मटेरिया मेडिका, शरीर रचना, शरीर विज्ञान, सम्मोहन, ईर्ष्या, लोभ र कृतघ्नताले जूरी गठन गर्दछ। अदालतको कोठा इच्छुक दर्शकहरूले भरिएको छ, र न्यायाधीश मेडिसिन बेन्चमा छन्।
I here present to my readers an allegory illustrative of the law of divine Mind and of the supposed laws of matter and hygiene, an allegory in which the plea of Christian Science heals the sick.
Suppose a mental case to be on trial, as cases are tried in court. A man is charged with having committed liver-complaint. The patient feels ill, ruminates, and the trial commences. Personal Sense is the plaintiff. Mortal Man is the defendant. False Belief is the attorney for Personal Sense. Mortal Minds, Materia Medica, Anatomy, Physiology, Hypnotism, Envy, Greed and Ingratitude, constitute the jury. The courtroom is filled with interested spectators, and Judge Medicine is on the bench.
न्यायाधीश मेडिसिन उठ्छन्, र ठूलो गम्भीरताका साथ मोर्टल माइन्ड्सको निर्णायक मण्डललाई सम्बोधन गर्छन्। उनी अपराधको विश्लेषण गर्छन्, गवाही समीक्षा गर्छन्, र कलेजो-उजुरीसँग सम्बन्धित कानूनको व्याख्या गर्छन्। उनको निष्कर्ष यो हो कि प्रकृतिको नियमले रोगलाई हत्यारा बनाउँछ। कडा कर्तव्यको पालनामा, उनको माननीय, न्यायाधीश मेडिसिनले निर्णायक मण्डललाई क्रिश्चियन विज्ञानको तर्कहीन, गैर-क्रिश्चियन सुझावहरूले आफ्नो निर्णयलाई विकृत हुन नदिन आग्रह गर्छन्। त्यस्ता मामिलाहरूमा निर्णायक मण्डलले मर्त्य मानिस विरुद्धको व्यक्तिगत भावनाको प्रमाणलाई मात्र ध्यान दिनुपर्छ।
न्यायाधीश अगाडि बढ्दै जाँदा, कैदी बेचैन हुन्छ। उसको नीलो अनुहार डरले फिक्का हुन्छ, र निराशा र मृत्युको झलक त्यसमा स्थिर हुन्छ। मुद्दा निर्णायक मण्डललाई दिइन्छ। छोटो परामर्श हुन्छ, र निर्णायक मण्डलले "पहिलो डिग्रीमा कलेजो-उजुरीको दोषी" को फैसला फिर्ता गर्छ।
Judge Medicine arises, and with great solemnity addresses the jury of Mortal Minds. He analyzes the offence, reviews the testimony, and explains the law relating to liver-complaint. His conclusion is, that laws of nature render disease homicidal. In compliance with a stern duty, his Honor, Judge Medicine, urges the jury not to allow their judgment to be warped by the irrational, unchristian suggestions of Christian Science. The jury must regard in such cases only the evidence of Personal Sense against Mortal Man.
As the Judge proceeds, the prisoner grows restless. His sallow face blanches with fear, and a look of despair and death settles upon it. The case is given to the jury. A brief consultation ensues, and the jury returns a verdict of "Guilty of liver-complaint in the first degree."
दिव्य प्रेमको पखेटामा छिटो, एउटा सन्देश आउँछ: "मृत्युदण्ड ढिलाइ गर; कैदी दोषी छैन।" जेलको आँगन आतंकले भरिन्छ। कोही भन्छन्, "यो कानून र न्यायको विपरीत हो।" अरू भन्छन्, "ख्रीष्टको कानूनले हाम्रा कानूनहरूलाई उछिनेको छ; हामी ख्रीष्टलाई पछ्यौं।"

Swift on the wings of divine Love, there comes a despatch: "Delay the execution; the prisoner is not guilty." Consternation fills the prison-yard. Some exclaim, "It is contrary to law and justice." Others say, "The law of Christ supersedes our laws; let us follow Christ."
The counsel's earnest, solemn eyes, kindling with hope and triumph, look upward. Then Christian Science turns suddenly to the supreme tribunal, and opens the argument for the defence: —
The prisoner at the bar has been unjustly sentenced. His trial was a tragedy, and is morally illegal. Mortal Man has had no proper counsel in the case.

Then what jurisdiction had his Honor, Judge Medicine, in this case? To him I might say, in Bible language, "Sittest thou to judge ... after the law, and commandest ... to be smitten contrary to the law?" The only jurisdiction to which the prisoner can submit is that of Truth, Life, and Love. If they condemn him not, neither shall Judge Medicine condemn him; and I ask that the prisoner be restored to the liberty of which he has been unjustly deprived.

The attorney, Christian Science, then read from the supreme statute-book, the Bible, certain extracts on the Rights of Man, remarking that the Bible was better authority than Blackstone: —
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion.
Behold, I give unto you power ... over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Here the counsel for the defence closed, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, with benign and imposing presence, comprehending and defining all law and evidence, explained from his statute-book, the Bible, that any so-called law, which undertakes to punish aught but sin, is null and void.

The Jury of Spiritual Senses agreed at once upon a verdict, and there resounded throughout the vast audience-chamber of Spirit the cry, Not guilty. Then the prisoner rose up regenerated, strong, free. We noticed, as he shook hands with his counsel, Christian Science, that all sallowness and debility had disappeared. His form was erect and commanding, his countenance beaming with health and happiness. Divine Love had cast out fear. Mortal Man, no longer sick and in prison, walked forth, his feet "beautiful upon the mountains," as of one "that bringeth good tidings."

In divine Science, where prayers are mental, all may avail themselves of God as "a very present help in trouble." Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals. It is the open fount which cries, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters."
