“मेरा मानिसहरू मैले दिएका उपहारहरूले सन्तुष्ट हुनेछन्। परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ।”
“My people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord.”
16. दुष्ट मानिसहरूको एकदम घूइँचोभन्दा, कम्ती धार्मिक मानिसहरू नै उत्तम हुन्छन्।
17. किन? किनभने दुष्ट मानिसहरू ध्वंश हुनेछन्, तर परमप्रभुले धार्मिक मानिसहरूको हेरचाह गर्नु हुनेछ।
18. परमप्रभुले निर्दोष मानिसहरूलाई जीवनभरि रक्षा गर्नुहुन्छ, तिनीहरूको पुरस्कार सदा-सर्वदाका निम्ति हुनेछ।
19. जब संकटहरू आउँछन्, धर्मी मानिसहरू असन्तुष्ट हुनेछैन्। अनिकालको समयमा पनि धर्मीहरूको निम्ति खानेकुरा प्रशस्त हुनेछ।
23. सतर्क भएर हिंड्ने सिपाहीलाई परमप्रभुले साथ दिनुहुन्छ। परमप्रभुले ती सिपाहीहरूलाई नष्ट हुनदेखि जोगाउनु हुन्छ।
25. म जावन थिएँ तर अब वृद्ध भएको छु, तर मैले कहिल्यै पनि परमेश्वरले धार्मिक मानिसहरूलाई त्याग्नु भएको देखेको छैन। मैले कहिल्यै पनि धर्मी मानिसहरूका नानीहरूले खानको लागि भीख माग्नु परेको देखेको छैन।
28. परमप्रभुले न्याय मन पराउनु हुन्छ, उहाँले आफ्ना भक्तजनहरूलाई खाली हात छोडनु हुन्न। परमप्रभुले आफ्ना भक्तजनहरूलाई सधैं रक्षा गर्नुहुन्छ तर कपटी मानिसहरूलाई नाश गर्नु हुनेछ।
29. धार्मिक मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुको वचन अनुसारको देश पाउनेछन्। तिनीहरू त्यहाँ सदा-सर्वदा बस्ने छन्।
16. A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18. The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
23. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
25. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
28. For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29. The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
पाठ सेर्मन
1 तब परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो,
17 तिमीहरूले छिमेकीहरूका घर, पत्नी, पुरूष अनि स्त्री, कमारा, कमारीहरू अथवा तिनीहरूको केही चीजहरूको चाहना गर्नु हुँदैन मानिसहरू परमेश्वरसित डराउँछन्।
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
7 धेरै सपनाहरू देख्नाले र शेखी गर्नाले व्यर्थको कुराहरूमा डोर्याउँछ। तिमीले परमेश्वरलाई आदर गर्नुपर्छ।
9 यति हुँदाहुँदै पनि कुनै खेती गर्न योग्य भूमिमा एउटा राजा हुनु देशको निम्ति लाभदायक हो। राजा पनि अन्तमा एउटा दास नै हो।
10 जसले धनलाई प्रेम गर्छ त्यो आफूसित भएको धनले कहिल्यै सन्तुष्ट हुँदैन। जसले धनलाई प्रेम गर्छ, धेरै भन्दा धेरै धन प्राप्त गरे पनि उसको मन कहिल्यै अघाउँदैन। यसकारण धन पनि व्यर्थै हो।
12 जसले सारा दिन कडा मेहनत गर्छ, ऊ घर गएर चैन साथ सुत्न सक्छ। उसलाई खान कम छ कि धेरै छ केही खाँचो पर्दैन। तर धनी मानिस आफ्नो धनको चिन्तामा नै डुबिरहन्छ र सुत्नसम्म पनि सक्दैन्।
13 मैले यस जीवनमा धेरै दुखको कुरो घटेको देखेको छु। मानिसले भविष्यको लागि धन सञ्चय गर्छन् तर त्यसले नोक्सानी पुर्याउँछ।
14 अनि केही नराम्रो घटना घट्छ र उसको सबै कुरा जान्छ र त्यस मानिससित आफ्नो छोरालाई दिने पनि केही रहँदैन।
18 मैले त यो देखें कि मानिसले जे गर्न सक्छ त्यो सबैभन्दा असल रहेछ खान, पिऊन र जुन काम उसले यस धर्तीमा आफ्नो छोटो जीवनमा गर्छ त्यसमा आनन्द लिन्छ। परमेश्वरले यिनै केही दिनहरू दिनुभएको छ बस् यहि तिम्रो र उसको हो।
19 यदि परमेश्वरले कसैलाई धन, सम्पत्ति र ती कुराहरूको आनन्द लिने शक्ति दिनुभएको छ भने उसले तिनको आनन्द लिन पर्छ। आफूसित जे जस्तो छ त्यसलाई स्वीकार गर्नुपर्छ र परमेश्वरबाट उपहार स्वरूप पाएको आफ्नो काममा आनन्द मनाउनु पर्छ।
20 यसो भए त्यस्ता मानिसले कहिल्ये पनि जीवन छोटो छ भनी सोच्दैन। किन कि परमेश्वरले त्यस्तालाई त्यस्तै काममा लगाई राख्नुहुन्छ, जुन काम गर्नमा उसको रूचि हुँदछ।
7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
9 Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.
10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
13 There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
14 But those riches perish by evil travail:
18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
20 For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.
5 फिलिप सामरिया शहरमा गए अनि ख्रीष्टको विषयमा प्रचार गरे।
6 मानिसहरूले त्यहाँ फिलिपले चमत्कारहरू गरेका सुने अनि देखे। फिलिपले भनेको कुराहरू मानिसहरूको भीडले एक मनले ध्यान लगाएर सुने।
7 धेरै जसो मानिसहरू दुष्ट आत्माहरूले भेट्टाएका थिए। तर दुष्ट आत्माहरू जोडले चिच्याएर मानिसहरूबाट बाहिर निस्के। पक्षाघात लागेको र लङ्गडो मानिसहरू निको भए।
8 त्यही कारणले गर्दा त्यस शहरमा मानिसहरू अत्यन्त आनन्दित थिए।
9 तर त्यस शहरमा शिमोन नाउँ गरेको एकजना मानिस थिए। फिलिप त्यहाँ आउन भन्दा अघि तिनी जादू गर्दै थिए अनि सामरियाका मानिसहरूलाई चकित पारेका थिए। शिमोनले घमण्ड साथ आफूलाई महान-मानिस दावी गर्थे।
11 शिमोनले आफ्ना जादू-कलाद्वारा मानिसहरूलाई धेरै समयदेखि प्रभावित पारेका थिए अनि तीनीहरू उनका भक्त भएका थिए।
12 तर फिलिपले मानिसहरूलाई परमेश्वरको राज्यको विषयमा सुसमाचार एवं येशू ख्रीष्टको नाउँको विषयमा बताइदिए। पुरुष-स्त्रीहरू जसले विश्वास गरे तिनीहरूले बप्तिस्मा लिए।
13 शिमोन स्वंयले विश्वास गरे अनि बप्तिस्मा लिए। फिलिप एकदम नजिकमा बसे। उनले फिलिपले गरेका चमत्कारहरू अनि महान कार्यहरू देखे। शिमोन छक्क परे।
14 प्रेरितहरू अझ सम्म यरूशलेमा नै थिए। तिनीहरूले सामरियाका मानिसहरूले परमेश्वरको वचनलाई स्वीकार गरे भन्ने बारेमा सुने। यसैकारणले तिनीहरूले पत्रुस र यूहन्नालाई सामारिया पठाए।
15 जब तिनीहरू सामारिया पुगे, तिनीहरूले सामरियाका विश्वासीहरूले पवित्र-आत्मा पावोस् भनेर प्रार्थना गरे।
17 तब ती प्रेरितहरूले तिनीहरूका हात मानिसहरूमा राखी दिए तब तिनीहरूले पवित्र-आत्मा प्राप्त गरे।
18 प्रेरितहरूले मानिसहरूलाई हात राखिदिंदा तिनीहरूमाथि पवित्र आत्मा दिइएको शिमोनले देखे। यसकारण शिमोनले प्रेरितहरूलाई पैसा देखाउदै।
19 अनि भने, यो शक्ति मलाई पनि दिनुहोस् ताकि जब मैले कसैमाथि हात राख्दा उसले पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त गरोस्।
20 पत्रुसले तिनलाई भने, “तिमी र तिम्रो पैसा दुवै नष्ट भई जाओस्! किनभने तिमीले सोच्यौ कि प्रभुको उपहार पैसाले किन्न सक्छौ।
21 यस काममा हामीसंग अंश ग्रहण गर्न सक्तैनौ। किनभने तिम्रो हृदय परमेश्वर समक्ष सही छैन।
22 तिम्रो हृदय बद्ली गर अनि यी कुकर्महरूदेखि टाडो भई हाल। प्रभुलाई प्रार्थना गर। हुनसक्छ तिम्रो यस्तो सोचाइलाई उहाँले क्षमा गरिदनु हुन्छ।
24 शिमोनले जवाफ दिए, तिमीहरूले मेरो लागि प्रभुलाई प्रार्थना गरिदेऊ। प्रार्थना गरिदेऊ कि तिमीहरूले भनेका कुनै पनि कुरा म माथि नघटोस्।
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also:
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
13 तर हामी सीमा नाघरे गर्व गर्दैनौ, हाम्रो गर्वको सीमा परमेश्वरले हामीलाई अह्राएको काम सम्म हुनेछ। यो काम हाम्रो तिमीहरूसिंतको काम अन्तर्गत पर्छ।
15 हामी आफ्नै कार्य क्षेत्रमा मात्रै आफ्नो गर्वलाई सीमित राख्छौं। अरूले गरेको काममा गर्व गर्दैनौं। हामी आशा गर्छौं, तिमीहरूको विश्वास बढछ, तिमीहरूले हाम्रो कामको क्षेत्र अझै व्यापक बनाउनमा सहायता गर्नेछौ।
17 तर जसले गर्व गर्छ उसले प्रभुमा गर्व गर्नु पर्छ।
18 किनभने असल मानिस उसलाई मानिन्छ जसलाई प्रभुले ग्रहण गर्नु भएको छ, तर उसलाई होइन जसले आफैलाई असल मान्छ।
13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
15 Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours;
17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
6 याद गरः जसले अलिकति छर्छ उसले अलिकति नै बाली कटनी गर्छ।
7 हरेकले आफ्नो मनमा जति दिन्छु भनेर चिताएको छ त्यति नै देओस्, विना इच्छा कसैले नदिओस्। जबर्जस्तीमा कुनै व्यक्तिले नदिवोस् जसले खुशी भएर दान गर्छ उसलाई परमेश्वरले प्रेम गर्नूहुन्छ
8 अनि परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई प्रशस्त मात्र आशीर्वाद दिनु हुनेछ। तब तिम्रोमा सघैं प्रशस्त रहेनछ अनि प्रत्येक शुभकर्मकोलागि मुक्तहस्तले दान दिन सक्नेछौ।
6 He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
1 ख्रीष्टमा तिमीहरू दाज्यू-भाइ र दिदी-बहिनीहरू जस्ता हौ र आपसमा प्रेम गर्न छोडनु हुँदैन।
2 मानिसहरूलाई अतिथी सत्कार दिएर सहायता गर्न कहिल्यै नभुल। यसो गर्दा कसैले अन्जानमै स्वर्गदूतहरूको सहायता गरे।
5 पैसाको मोहदेखि आफूलाई टाडा राख। आफूसित जो छ त्यसैमा सन्तुष्ट होऊ। परमेश्वरले भन्नुभएको छ म तिमीलाई कहिल्यै छोडदिनँ म तिमीदेखि कहिल्यै भग्दिनँ।
6 त्यसर्थ ढुक्कसित भनौ प्रभु मेरा सहायक हुनुहुन्छ, मलाई केही डर हुने छैन। कसैले मलाई केही अनर्थ गर्न सक्छ?
20 म प्रार्थना गर्छु, शान्तिका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूले चाहेका सबै असल कुराहरू दिनुहुनेछ जसमा कि उहाँले चाहनु भएको काम तिमीहरूले गर्न सक्छौ। उनै परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ जसले भेडाका ठूला गोठाला हाम्रा प्रभु येशूलाई मृत्युबाट पुनरूत्थान गर्नुभयो। आफ्ना रगतद्वारा उहाँले अनन्त करार शुरू गुर्नुभयो। म प्रार्थना गर्दछु, परमेश्वरले आफू खुशी हुने काम हामीमा येशू ख्रीष्टद्वारा गराउनु हुनेछ। येशूको सदा महिमा होस्। आमिन।
21 त्याची इच्छा पूर्ण करायला तुम्हांला चांगल्या गोष्टींनी सिद्ध करो आणि येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या द्वारे त्याला संतोष देणारे काम आपल्यामध्ये करो. त्याला युगानुयुगे गौरव असो. आमेन.
1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper,
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
उच्च आनन्दले मात्र अमर मानिसको चाहना पूरा गर्न सक्छ। हामी व्यक्तिगत इन्द्रियको सीमा भित्र खुशीलाई सीमित गर्न सक्दैनौं। इन्द्रियहरूले कुनै वास्तविक आनन्द प्रदान गर्दैनन्।
मानव स्नेहमा रहेको असल कुराले दुष्टमाथि र आध्यात्मिक कुराले जनावरमाथि विजय हासिल गर्नुपर्छ, नत्र खुशी कहिल्यै जित्न सकिँदैन। यो स्वर्गीय अवस्थाको प्राप्तिले हाम्रो सन्तानमा सुधार ल्याउनेछ, अपराध घटाउनेछ र महत्वाकांक्षालाई उच्च लक्ष्य दिनेछ। पापको हरेक उपत्यकालाई उच्च पार्नुपर्छ, र स्वार्थको हरेक पहाडलाई तल झार्नुपर्छ, ताकि हाम्रो ईश्वरको राजमार्ग विज्ञानमा तयार होस्।
Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man. We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense. The senses confer no real enjoyment.
The good in human affections must have ascendency over the evil and the spiritual over the animal, or happiness will never be won. The attainment of this celestial condition would improve our progeny, diminish crime, and give higher aims to ambition. Every valley of sin must be exalted, and every mountain of selfishness be brought low, that the highway of our God may be prepared in Science.
सौन्दर्य, धन, वा प्रसिद्धि स्नेहको माग पूरा गर्न असमर्थ छ, र बुद्धि, भलाइ र सद्गुणको राम्रो दाबीहरूको विरुद्धमा कहिल्यै तौलनु हुँदैन। खुशी आध्यात्मिक हो, सत्य र प्रेमबाट जन्मिएको हो। यो निस्वार्थ छ; त्यसैले यो एक्लै अवस्थित हुन सक्दैन, तर सबै मानवजातिलाई यसलाई साझा गर्न आवश्यक छ।
Beauty, wealth, or fame is incompetent to meet the demands of the affections, and should never weigh against the better claims of intellect, goodness, and virtue. Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it.
यदि तपाईं मनको विज्ञानलाई माया गर्न धेरै भौतिक हुनुहुन्छ र प्रभावको सट्टा राम्रा शब्दहरूले सन्तुष्ट हुनुहुन्छ, यदि तपाईं त्रुटिमा टाँसिनुहुन्छ र सत्यमा विश्वास गर्न डराउनुहुन्छ भने, प्रश्न फेरि दोहोरिन्छ, "आदम, तपाईं कहाँ हुनुहुन्छ?" बिरामीहरूलाई सन्तुष्ट पार्न मन बाहेक अरू कुनै चीजको सहारा लिनु अनावश्यक छ कि तपाईं तिनीहरूको लागि केही गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ, किनकि यदि तिनीहरू निको भए भने, तिनीहरू सामान्यतया यो जान्दछन् र सन्तुष्ट हुन्छन्।

If you are too material to love the Science of Mind and are satisfied with good words instead of effects, if you adhere to error and are afraid to trust Truth, the question then recurs, "Adam, where art thou?" It is unnecessary to resort to aught besides Mind in order to satisfy the sick that you are doing something for them, for if they are cured, they generally know it and are satisfied.
"Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." If you have more faith in drugs than in Truth, this faith will incline you to the side of matter and error. Any hypnotic power you may exercise will diminish your ability to become a Scientist, and vice versa. The act of healing the sick through divine Mind alone, of casting out error with Truth, shows your position as a Christian Scientist.
The demands of God appeal to thought only; but the claims of mortality, and what are termed laws of nature, appertain to matter. Which, then, are we to accept as legitimate and capable of producing the highest human good? We cannot obey both physiology and Spirit, for one absolutely destroys the other, and one or the other must be supreme in the affections. It is impossible to work from two standpoints. If we attempt it, we shall presently "hold to the one, and despise the other."

It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce of material existence; it is chastity and purity, in contrast with the downward tendencies and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity, which really attest the divine origin and operation of Christian Science.

There is great danger in teaching Mind-healing indiscriminately, thus disregarding the morals of the student and caring only for the fees. Recalling Jefferson's words about slavery, "I tremble, when I remember that God is just," the author trembles whenever she sees a man, for the petty consideration of money, teaching his slight knowledge of Mind-power, — perhaps communicating his own bad morals, and in this way dealing pitilessly with a community unprepared for self-defence.

Take away wealth, fame, and social organizations, which weigh not one jot in the balance of God, and we get clearer views of Principle. Break up cliques, level wealth with honesty, let worth be judged according to wisdom, and we get better views of humanity.

The so-called pleasures and pains of matter perish, and they must go out under the blaze of Truth, spiritual sense, and the actuality of being. Mortal belief must lose all satisfaction in error and sin in order to part with them.
Mortal mind judges by the testimony of the material senses, until Science obliterates this false testimony. An improved belief is one step out of error, and aids in taking the next step and in understanding the situation in Christian Science.

The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God's government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed.

Man's enslavement to the most relentless masters — passion, selfishness, envy, hatred, and revenge — is conquered only by a mighty struggle. Every hour of delay makes the struggle more severe. If man is not victorious over the passions, they crush out happiness, health, and manhood. Here Christian Science is the sovereign panacea, giving strength to the weakness of mortal mind, — strength from the immortal and omnipotent Mind, — and lifting humanity above itself into purer desires, even into spiritual power and good-will to man.
Let the slave of wrong desire learn the lessons of Christian Science, and he will get the better of that desire, and ascend a degree in the scale of health, happiness, and existence.

The aspiration after heavenly good comes even before we discover what belongs to wisdom and Love. The loss of earthly hopes and pleasures brightens the ascending path of many a heart. The pains of sense quickly inform us that the pleasures of sense are mortal and that joy is spiritual.

Spiritual development germinates not from seed sown in the soil of material hopes, but when these decay, Love propagates anew the higher joys of Spirit, which have no taint of earth. Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.
