“तर परमप्रभु चाँहि साँचो परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँ मात्र जीवित परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँ राजा हुनुहुन्छ जसले सदाकाल शासन चलाउनु हुन्छ। परमेश्वरको रीसमा पृथ्वी काम्छ अनि विदेशीहरूले उहाँको क्रोध सहन सक्तैनन्। परमेश्वर नै हुनुहुन्छ, जसले पृथ्वीलाई आफ्नो शक्तिले सृष्टि गर्नुभयो। परमेश्वरले आफ्नो ज्ञानले संसारलाई रच्नु भयो अनि उहाँले आफ्नो समझ द्वारा आकाशलाई फैलाउनुभयो।”
“The Lord is the true God, he is the living God. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.”
22. हेर, परमेश्वरको शक्तिले उसलाई महान बनायो। परमेश्वर नै महान गुरू हुनुहुन्छ।
24. उहाँले गर्नुभएको कामको लागि उहाँको प्रशंसा गर्नु नभूल। मानिसहरूले परमेश्वरको प्रशंसा गर्दै धेरै गीतहरू लेखेका छन्।
25. परमेश्वरले के गर्नु भयो प्रत्येकले देख्न सक्छन्। धेरै टाढो देशका मानिसहरूले पनि ती कुराहरू देख्न सक्छन्।
5. परमेश्वरको गर्जन आवाज चमत्कारमय हुन्छ। उहाँले महान कर्महरू गर्नु हुन्छ जुन हामी बुझ्न सक्तैनौं।
3. अय्यूब, कम्मर कस, मेरो प्रश्नको उत्तर दिनलाई तैयार बस।
4. तिमी कहाँथियौ जब मैले पृथ्वी सृष्टि गरे? यदि तिमी यो जान्दछौ भने मलाई जवाफ देऊ।
5. यदि तिमी साह्रै चतुर छौ भने, संसार यति ठूलो हुनुपर्छ भनेर कसले निर्णय गर्यो? कसले संसारलाई नापजोख गर्यो?
7. जब त्यसो गरियो, बिहान ताराहरूले एकैसाथ गाए अनि दूतहरू आनन्दले कराए।
22. Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
24. Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
25. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
5. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
3. Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
7. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
पाठ सेर्मन
6 परमप्रभुले आदेश गर्नुभयो र यो संसार बनियो। परमेश्वरको मुखबाट निस्केको सासबाट पृथ्वीमा प्रत्येक कुराको सृजना भयो।
9 किन? किनभने परमेश्वरले आदेश गर्दा मात्र ती कुराहरू प्रकट हुन्छन। अनि यदि उहँले भन्नुहुन्छ, रोक! तब ती सबै रोकिने छन्।
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
1 … मोशा परमप्रभुका दास थिए। नूनका छोरा यहोशू मोशाका सहायक थिए। मोशाको मृत्यु भए पछि, परमप्रभु यहोशूसित बात गर्नुभयो। परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो,
2 … मेरो दास मोशाको मृत्यु भयो। अब तिमी अनि यी मानिसहरू यर्दन नदी पार गरी जानु पर्छ। तिमीहरू त्यो भूमिमा अवश्यै जानु पर्छ जुन चाहि तिमीहरू इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई दिदैछु।
3 मैले मोशालाई प्रतिज्ञा दिएको थिए कि म यो भूमि तँलाई दिनेछु। यसर्थ तँ जहाँ कही जानेछस् म तँलाई त्यो भूमि दिनेछु।
5 कुनै पनि मानिसले तँलाई सम्पूर्ण जीवन भरी रोक्न सक्ने छैन। म जसरी मोशासित रहेको थिएँ, त्यसरी नै म तँसित रहनेछु। म तँलाई त्याग्ने छैन। म तँलाई कहिले छाड्ने छैन।
9 याद राख, मैले तँलाई दृढ अनि साहसी हुनु भनी आज्ञा गरेकोछु। यसकारण, भयभीत नहो, किनभने परमप्रभु तेरो परमेश्वर तँ जहाँ कँही गएता पनि तेरो साथ रहनु हुनेछ।
1 …it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 …arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
9 Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
1 सबेला अदोनिसेदेक यरूशलेमका राजा थिए। ती राजाले सुने कि यहोशूले ऐ शहरलाई परास्त गरे अनि पूर्णरूपले त्यसलाई नष्ट गरिदिए। ती राजाले थाहा पाए कि यहोशूले यरीहो अनि त्यसका राजालाई पनि त्यसै गरेका थिए। ती राजाले यो पनि थाहा पाए कि गिबोनका मानिसहरूले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूसित शान्ति सन्धि गरेका थिए। अनि ती मानिसहरू यरूशलेमको अत्यन्त नजिकमा बस्थे।
3 अदोनि सेदेक, यरूशलेमका राजाले हेब्रोनका राजा होहाम, यर्मूतका राजा पिराम, लाकीशका राजा यापी र एग्लोनको राजा दबीरकहाँ समाचारवाहक पठाए,
4 मेरो साथमा आउनु होस्, अनि मलाई गिबोनमाथि आक्रमण गर्न सहयोग दिनु होस्। गिबोनले यहोशू अनि इस्राएलका मानिसहरूसित शान्ति-सम्झौता गरेकोछ।
5 यसकारण यी पाँच राजाहरूले तिनीहरूका सेनाहरू जम्मा गरे। ... तिनीहरू आफ्ना सैनिकहरू लिएर गिबोनमा गए, शहरलाई घेरा हाले अनि लडाईं लडे।
6 गिबोन शहरका बासिन्दाहरूले गिलगालको छाउनीमा यहोशूकहाँ एकजना समाचारवाहक पठाए। तिनले ल्याएको समाचार यस्तो थियो, हामी तपाईंहरूका दाशहरूलाई नत्याग्नुहोस्।
8 परमप्रभुले यहोशूलाई भन्नुभयो, ती सेनाहरू देखि भयभीत नहोऊ। म तिमीहरूलाई तिनीहरूलाई हराउने शक्ति दिनेछु। ती सैनिकहरूमा कोही पनि तेरो सामाना गर्ने योग्यको छैन।
9 यहोशू अनि तिनका सेना रात भरि गिबोन तर्फ हिंडे।
10 परमप्रभुले ती सेनाहरूलाई अन्योलमा पारिदिनु भयो जब इस्राएलले आक्रमण गरे।
12 त्यसदिन परमप्रभुले इस्राएलीले एमोरी मानिसहरूलाई परास्त गर्न दिनुभयो। अनि त्यसदिन यहोशू इस्राएलका समस्त मानिसहरूको सामुन्ने उभिए र परमप्रभुलाई भनेः हे सूर्य, गिबोन माथि स्थिर बस्। चन्द्रमा, अय्ययालोन-बेंसीमाथि स्थिर बस्।
13 यसर्थ सूर्य स्थिर रह्यो अनि मानिसहरूले आफ्ना शत्रुहरूलाई परास्त नगरेसम्म रोकियो।
14 यस्तो पहिला कहिले पनि भएको थिएन। अनि यस्तो फेरि कहिले हुनेछैन।
1 Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
3 Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, … gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel,
12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. … So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.
14 ... परमेश्वरले गर्नु भएको ती अनौठा कुराहरू बारे सोच।
23 सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर महान हुनुहुन्छ। हामी परमेश्वरलाई बुझ्न सक्तैनौं। परमेश्वर अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ, तर उहाँ हाम्रो लागि असल र उचित हुनुहुन्छ। परमेश्वरले हामीलाई घात पुर्याउन चाहनुहुन्न।
14 …stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
5 यहूदामा हेरोदको शासन कालमा जकरिया नाउँ गरेका एकजना पूजाहारी थिए। जकरिया अबियाका पूजाहारी समूहका थिए। जकरियाकी पत्नी हारून वंशकी थिईन्। तिनको नाउँ इलीशिबा थियो।
6 ती दुवै जकरिया र इलीशिबा परमेश्वर समक्ष असल मानिस थिए। जहाँ सम्म परमप्रभुको जम्मै आज्ञा र नियमहरूको सम्बन्ध छ तिनीहरू निष्कलंक थिए।
7 तर जकरिया र इलीशिबा निःसन्तान थिए। इलीशिबा गर्भवती हुन सकिनन्, कारण तिनीहरू दुवै बृद्ध भइसकेका थिए।
8 जब उनको समूहको सेवा गर्ने पालो थियो जकरियाले परमेश्वर अघि मानिसहरूको सेवा पूजाहारी भएर गरे। यस्तै उनको समूहको सेवा गर्ने समय थियो। परमेश्वर
9 पूजाहारीहरूले संधैं एकजना पूजाहारीलाई धूप दिने गर्दथे। जकरिया यस्तै काम गर्ने छानिएको थिए। यसकारण उनले परमप्रभुको मन्दिरमा धूप जनाउनु पर्थ्यो।
11 त्यसपछि धूप जलिरहेको दाहिनेपट्टि परमप्रभुको एउटा स्वर्गदूत जकरियाको अघि उभिएका थिए।
12 जब उनले स्वर्गदूतलाई देख्यो, जकरिया भ्रममा परे र डरले आत्तिए।
13 ती स्वर्गदूतले जकरियालाई भने, जकरिया, नडराऊ। तिम्रो प्रार्थनालाई परमेश्वरले सुनिदिनु भएकोछ। तिम्री पत्नी इलीशिबाले एउटा पुत्र जन्म दिनेछन्। उनको नाउँ तिमीले यूहन्ना राखिदिनु।
14 तिनेले तिमीहरूमा आनन्द र खुशीयाली ल्याउनेछन्। तिनको जन्मले धेरै धेरै मानिसहरूमा सुख ल्याउनेछ।
15 परमप्रभुको सामुन्ने यूहन्ना तिनी एकजना महान मानिस बनिनेछन्। तिनले दाखरस अथवा मदिरा कदापि लिने छैन। तिनको जन्मबाट नै तिनी पवित्र आत्माले भरिएको हुनेछन्।
19 ती स्वर्गदूतले जवाफ दिए, म गब्रिएल हुँ। म परमेश्वरको अघि खडा रहन्छु। परमेश्वरले नै मलाई तिमीसित कुरा गर्न र यिनै खुशीको सुसमाचार दिन पठाउनु भएको हो।
24 केही समय पछि जकरियाको पत्नी इलीशिबा गर्भवती भइन्। अनि पाँच महीनासम्म उनी घरदेखि बाहिर निस्किनन्। इलीशिबाले भनिन्,
25 हेर, मलाई परमप्रभुले के गर्नुभएको छ। उहाँले मेरो एउटा नानी जन्मियोस् भनी निर्णय लिनु भयो। परमप्रभुले ममाथि यति कृपा गर्नु भयो कि अब उसो मानिसहरूको सामुन्नेबाट मलाई लाज मुक्त पार्नु भयो।
26 इलीशिबाको छैटौं महीनामा, गालीको एउटा शहर नासरतमा बस्ने एउटी कन्याकहाँ परमेश्वरले एउटा गब्रिएल नाउँ गरेको दुतलाई पठाउनु भयो।
27 तिनी दाऊदको परिवारको यूसुफ नाउँ गरेको एक मानिससँग मगनी भएकी थिइन्। ती कन्याको नाउँ मरियम थियो।
28 ती स्वर्गदूत मरियमकहाँ गए अनि भने, शुभकामना छ। परमप्रभु तिमीसितै हुनुहुन्छ। तिमी उहाँको खुवै प्रिय छौ।
31 सुन! तिमी गर्भवती हुनेछौ अनि तिमीले एउटा छोरो जन्माउनेछौ। अनि उहाँको नाउँ तिमीले येशू राख्नु।
36 यस विषयमा ध्यान देऊः तिम्रो आफन्त इलीशिबा पनि गर्भवती छिन् तिनको अवस्था वृद्ध अनि बाँझी कहलाइए पनि अहिले तिनी छ महीनाबाट गर्भवती भएकी छिन्।
37 किनभने परमेश्वर जस्तै कुरो पनि गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judæa, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,
9 According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord,
19 I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
11 हे धार्मिक मानिसहरू हो, परमप्रभुमा प्रफुल्लित र अत्यन्त खुशी होऊ। हे शुद्ध हृदय भएका मानिसहरू प्रफुल्लित होऊ।
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
13 परमेश्वर नै एकजना हुनुहुन्छ जसले पहाड र बतास सृजना गर्नहुन्छ। उहाँले मानिसहरुलाई आफ्नो बिचार भन्नुहुन्छ। उहाँनै एक हुनुहुन्छ जसले बिहानलाईअँध्यारोमा परिवर्तन गनुहुन्छ। अनि पृथ्वीका पहाडहरुमाथि चढनु हुन्छ। उहाँको नाउँ यहोवा हो परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ।
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
धर्मशास्त्रले हामीलाई जानकारी दिन्छ कि "परमेश्वरबाट सबै कुरा सम्भव छ," - आत्माबाट सबै असल कुरा सम्भव छ;
Scripture informs us that "with God all things are possible," — all good is possible to Spirit;
विज्ञानले सबै असल कुराहरू प्राप्त गर्ने सम्भावना प्रकट गर्छ, र परमेश्वरले पहिले नै के गरिसक्नुभएको छ भनेर पत्ता लगाउन नश्वरहरूलाई काममा लगाउँछ;
Science reveals the possibility of achieving all good, and sets mortals at work to discover what God has already done;
क्रिश्चियन विज्ञानले सबै कारण र प्रभावलाई भौतिक होइन, मानसिक रूपमा व्याख्या गर्छ। यसले आत्मा र शरीरबाट रहस्यको पर्दा उठाउँछ। यसले मानिसको ईश्वरसँगको वैज्ञानिक सम्बन्ध देखाउँछ, अस्तित्वको अन्तर्निहित अस्पष्टताहरूलाई उजागर गर्छ, र कैद गरिएको विचारलाई मुक्त गर्छ। दिव्य विज्ञानमा, मानिस सहित ब्रह्माण्ड आध्यात्मिक, सामंजस्यपूर्ण र शाश्वत छ।
Christian Science explains all cause and effect as mental, not physical. It lifts the veil of mystery from Soul and body. It shows the scientific relation of man to God, disentangles the interlaced ambiguities of being, and sets free the imprisoned thought. In divine Science, the universe, including man, is spiritual, harmonious, and eternal.
सृजनात्मक सिद्धान्त - जीवन, सत्य र प्रेम - परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ। ब्रह्माण्डले परमेश्वरलाई प्रतिबिम्बित गर्दछ। त्यहाँ केवल एक सृष्टिकर्ता र एउटै सृष्टि छ। यो सृष्टिमा आध्यात्मिक विचारहरू र तिनीहरूको पहिचानको प्रकटीकरण समावेश छ, जुन अनन्त मनमा अँगालिएका छन् र सधैंभरि प्रतिबिम्बित हुन्छन्।
The creative Principle — Life, Truth, and Love — is God. The universe reflects God. There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected.

In the universe of Truth, matter is unknown. No supposition of error enters there. Divine Science, the Word of God, saith to the darkness upon the face of error, "God is All-in-all," and the light of ever-present Love illumines the universe. Hence the eternal wonder, — that infinite space is peopled with God's ideas, reflecting Him in countless spiritual forms.
मन, आफ्ना सबै संरचनाहरूमाथि सर्वोच्च र ती सबैलाई नियन्त्रण गर्ने, आफ्नै विचार प्रणालीहरूको केन्द्री सूर्य हो, आफ्नै सबै विशाल सृष्टिको जीवन र प्रकाश; र मानिस दिव्य मनको सहायक हो।
मन बिना संसार ध्वस्त हुनेछ, बुद्धि बिना जसले हावालाई आफ्नो पकडमा राख्छ। न त दर्शन न त शंकावादले मनको सर्वोच्चता प्रकट गर्ने विज्ञानको यात्रालाई बाधा पुर्याउन सक्छ। मन-शक्तिको अविनाशी भावनाले मनको महिमा बढाउँछ। दूरी होइन, निकटताले यस दृष्टिकोणलाई मोहित बनाउँछ।
पृथ्वीलाई बनाउने मिश्रित खनिजहरू वा एकत्रित पदार्थहरू, जनसमूहहरूले एकअर्कासँग राख्ने सम्बन्धहरू, आकाशीय पिण्डहरूको परिमाण, दूरी र क्रान्तिहरूको कुनै वास्तविक महत्त्व हुँदैन, जब हामी सम्झन्छौं कि तिनीहरू सबैले मानिस र ब्रह्माण्डलाई आत्मामा फिर्ता अनुवाद गरेर आध्यात्मिक तथ्यलाई स्थान दिनुपर्छ। यो गरिएको अनुपातमा, मानिस र ब्रह्माण्ड सामंजस्यपूर्ण र शाश्वत पाइनेछ।
भौतिक पदार्थ वा सांसारिक संरचनाहरू, खगोलीय गणनाहरू, र भौतिक कानून वा पदार्थमा वास गर्ने जीवन र बुद्धिको परिकल्पनामा आधारित काल्पनिक सिद्धान्तहरूका सबै सामग्रीहरू अन्ततः आत्माको अनन्त गणनामा निलिएर गायब हुनेछन्।
Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, the life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind.
The world would collapse without Mind, without the intelligence which holds the winds in its grasp. Neither philosophy nor skepticism can hinder the march of the Science which reveals the supremacy of Mind. The immanent sense of Mind-power enhances the glory of Mind. Nearness, not distance, lends enchantment to this view.
The compounded minerals or aggregated substances composing the earth, the relations which constituent masses hold to each other, the magnitudes, distances, and revolutions of the celestial bodies, are of no real importance, when we remember that they all must give place to the spiritual fact by the translation of man and the universe back into Spirit. In proportion as this is done, man and the universe will be found harmonious and eternal.
Material substances or mundane formations, astronomical calculations, and all the paraphernalia of speculative theories, based on the hypothesis of material law or life and intelligence resident in matter, will ultimately vanish, swallowed up in the infinite calculus of Spirit.
पृथ्वीको गति र स्थिति केवल मनले मात्र कायम राख्छ।
The earth's motion and position are sustained by Mind alone.
त्यहाँ एउटा मात्र वास्तविक आकर्षण छ, त्यो हो आत्माको। सुईले खम्बामा औंल्याउनुले यो सर्वव्यापी शक्ति वा ईश्वर, दिव्य मनको आकर्षणको प्रतीक हो।

There is but one real attraction, that of Spirit. The pointing of the needle to the pole symbolizes this all-embracing power or the attraction of God, divine Mind.
The planets have no more power over man than over his Maker, since God governs the universe; but man, reflecting God's power, has dominion over all the earth and its hosts.

…the plant grows, not because of seed or soil, but because growth is the eternal mandate of Mind. Mortal thought drops into the ground, but the immortal creating thought is from above, not from beneath. Because Mind makes all, there is nothing left to be made by a lower power. Spirit acts through the Science of Mind, never causing man to till the ground, but making him superior to the soil. Knowledge of this lifts man above the sod, above earth and its environments, to conscious spiritual harmony and eternal being.

If we pray to God as a corporeal person, this will prevent us from relinquishing the human doubts and fears which attend such a belief, and so we cannot grasp the wonders wrought by infinite, incorporeal Love, to whom all things are possible.

In Egypt, it was Mind which saved the Israelites from belief in the plagues. In the wilderness, streams flowed from the rock, and manna fell from the sky. The Israelites looked upon the brazen serpent, and straightway believed that they were healed of the poisonous stings of vipers.
In national prosperity, miracles attended the successes of the Hebrews; but when they departed from the true idea, their demoralization began. Even in captivity among foreign nations, the divine Principle wrought wonders for the people of God in the fiery furnace and in kings' palaces.

The material so-called gases and forces are counterfeits of the spiritual forces of divine Mind, whose potency is Truth, whose attraction is Love, whose adhesion and cohesion are Life, perpetuating the eternal facts of being. Electricity is the sharp surplus of materiality which counterfeits the true essence of spirituality or truth, — the great difference being that electricity is not intelligent, while spiritual truth is Mind.
There is no vapid fury of mortal mind — expressed in earthquake, wind, wave, lightning, fire, bestial ferocity — and this so-called mind is self-destroyed. The manifestations of evil, which counterfeit divine justice, are called in the Scriptures, "The anger of the Lord." In reality, they show the self-destruction of error or matter and point to matter's opposite, the strength and permanency of Spirit. Christian Science brings to light Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil.

Christian Science presents unfoldment, not accretion; it manifests no material growth from molecule to mind, but an impartation of the divine Mind to man and the universe.

All that is made is the work of God, and all is good.
The harmony and immortality of man are intact. We should look away from the opposite supposition that man is created materially, and turn our gaze to the spiritual record of creation, to that which should be engraved on the understanding and heart "with the point of a diamond" and the pen of an angel.
